Forks Over Knives Flash

Forks Over Knives , documentary Flash assignment .

Globey's Article

1. What did you think about the article?
The article was humorous because of the way the author continually described us , being somewhat intelligent and how we must've worked hard .
2. How did it make you feel to read about your school and Globaloria, a program that you participate in?
I think that it's pretty cool that there are other people besides AMD and Southwest Key , that have become interested in what exactly it is that we're doing .
3. If your game was not featured in the article, what would you have liked for the author to have said?
I suppose I would have liked him to mention , what our game was about .
4. Which game do you think the author should have mentioned in his article and why?
I think the author should have mentioned a little of all the finalists games' because they obviously did well enough to get recognized the first .

Forks Over Knives

1 . What do you think this documentary will be about ?
I think that this documentary is going to be about healthy eating rather than eating processed foods & red meats .
2 . What do you think the title indicates or implies about the film ?
The title implicates that this documentary will try to expose people to the harsh ways of American eating .

- Average american has about 24 extra pounds
- Almost 1 in 5 american 4 year old children are considered obese
- No less than forty person of Americans are obese
- Every minute a person in the US is killed by Heart Disease
- Animal based foods , & some of the most deadliest diseases are somehow " linked "

Final Game

Team: The Losersss
Title of our game: Save A Kiddo
Topic: Child Abuse
Learning Goal: To help people identify the different types of child abuse and what ways the abuse can be stopped.
How will the player learn about the topic from playing your game?
The player will learn these things by reading the various facts throughout the game and answering the question appropriately. Completing the mazes also contribute to trying to figure out solutions.
What would you like to add or improve uponin your game?
I would like to possibly add more complex coding to the obstacles in the mazes. Such as, making them move more.
What was the most challenging part of creating your this game? The most challenging part of creating the game was adding the maze codes. There were SO MANY different things that have to be done in order to have the collision work for the maze walls.
What are you most proud of?

Respect

Respect is showing someone that you care and direct your attention to them . It's treating someone with the authority and kindness they deserve .
In the classroom's you show respect by being attentive to the teacher and showing effort in your work . In a computer lab you show respect by taking care of the equipment properly . Handling computers and accessories with efficiently . And completing all assignments on time and diligently . In the hallways , you can show respect by making sure you don't bump into people , holding the doors open , greeting people nicely and properly , and saying " excuse me " or something when needed . When visitors are present or when we are visiting , you show respect by being polite and courteous .

Nike

It turns out that Nike is two faced . It has the popular athletic gear , with its professional athletes who showcase their products , but then there's the miserable , workers who get paid probably lower than minimum wadge along with terrible working conditions . Obviously , they aren't paying enough attention to what's going on inside their corporation . If Nike is such a rich & globally know company , why aren't their workers healthy and some of the best paid people out there ?!

- Children with no education or higher levels of understanding .
Lost generations .
- Materials ( waste ) that are burned and create pollution and release Cancer causing agents
- Forced Labor
- Disgusting working conditions

Object in the Sky !

How could you take this real-life event and turn this into a game. Someone could create a game by having the gamer examine the object that shot across the sky . They could test the different materials and investigate .
What genre would you focus on? Definitely Science .

What skill or topic would your game teach? The topic would be something space related and the skill could be something like inferencing or problem solving .
What would the player have to do in the game? The gamer would have to try and figure out what exactly the object is . Also , where it could've came from .

What would the hero of your game look like? The enemy? The hero would be sort of like a normal character but would have had the intelligence to understand how to figure out what they were doing . The enemy would be like the obstacles the gamer encounters when trying to examine the object .
What type of animations or sounds would the player see and hear? As for sounds , they would be like the beeping " noises " of space or the " noises " of a lab-like environment .
What would be the title of your game? The title of the game would be something like , " Space Matters " or something

                   I created this in flash , ^ ^ ^

My Gaming Habits

What types of games do you enjoy playing?
What are the titles? Ummmmm , simple games like Pacman , Tetris , Angry Birds , Bloxors , Just Dance , Guitar Hero , & occasionally Call of Duty with my little brother . ( Yes , I suck at it       -_____- }
When did you begin playing games, on what type of game system?  I only got into games because of my little brother , he's a total game freak . I suppose it started on The Xbox .
Do your parents/guardians limit the amount of time you are allowed to play games? My mom tries to limit the amount of time , because she says we could be doing something more productive , blah , blah , blah .
Do you think it is possible to get completely addicted to playing video games? Why or why not? Certainly , I think that video games are definitely easy to get addicted to . Simply because , the game could be challenging and fun to play .

Gamefication , Game Design , & Game Mechanics

In Globoloria , I learn how to better understand Flash , I learn how to work better with people and how to make a more educational game . During the past two and a half years , I have learned new skills & even bettered some skills . I have learned flash drawing skills , problem solving skills , cooperation skills , presentation skills , and independence skills . These skills can prepare me for a successful academic future by helping to prepare me to work well with others , how to solve issues on my own , how to help others , how to better start and accomplish things . The problem solving skills , cooperation skills & presentation skills , appeal to interviewers , because they see maturity and potential .
The difference between Gamification , Game Mechanics , and Game Design :
Game Design is referred to as " Skeletal Framework " , where everything hangs off of .
Game Design is basically the process which includes the brainstorming & creating of the rules and contents of the game .
Game Mechanics is the function of the actual game . So , what happens to the gamer's character through out the game .
Gameification is adding NEW things to the game . Such as point score , award badges , etc .
